BECAUSE A WELL-ALIGNED BITE IS IMPORTANT
A well-aligned bite is important because it enables proper chewing and reduces the risk of tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease. A poorly aligned bite can cause excessive wear and tear on the teeth, jaw problems, and discomfort for your child. It can also lead to longer-term oral health issues, which can be more difficult to fix. This is where orthodontic services come into play.
An orthodontist is a specialist who is qualified to diagnose and treat these dental or jaw irregularities. They can help to correct a bite problem or jaw alignment issues, and straighten crooked teeth. Orthodontic treatments help make a smile more aesthetically pleasing. They also restore proper function, so your child can look forward to a lifetime of healthy, happy smiles.

Interceptive Care
FIXING PROBLEMS EARLY FOR THE BEST RESULTS
Interceptive care in orthodontic dentistry is all about prevention. This is an early intervention approach that helps to guide teeth eruption and correct any malocclusion problems early in a child’s life. The age at which interceptive care may begin varies, but typically a child will be around the age of eight or nine when treatment commences.
Interceptive care is a preventive measure designed to create better long-term outcomes for children after their adult teeth come through. It can eliminate or reduce the need for complex future treatments, saving time and money. It also reduces discomfort for your child as they grow.

Space Maintainers
HOLDING SPACE FOR FOR THE PERMANENT TEETH
If a child prematurely loses a baby tooth, it can cause longer-term problems. Yes, it’s true that children lose all of their baby teeth at some stage, but, many people don’t realize that baby teeth play a crucial role as “space holders.” The baby teeth ensure that, when the permanent teeth erupt, they move into the correct place. They ensure that proper function of the jaw and mouth is maintained. This is important so that chewing and speech are not adversely affected.
When a tooth is missing, the other teeth surrounding it may shift out of their optimal position. This can cause malocclusion issues when the permanent teeth come through. A space maintainer simply keeps the space available until the adult tooth emerges. It is a passive device—it just holds the place, as the baby tooth would have done if it wasn’t prematurely lost.
Invisalign
CLEAR ALIGNERS THAT CAN TRANSFORM A SMILE
Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment using clear aligners to help shift crooked teeth into the right place. It can be useful when there are issues with teeth overcrowding, gaps or spacing problems, and some types of bite issues. The main benefit of Invisalign versus traditional braces is that they are far less visible. For children who are feeling self-conscious about their smile, Invisalign offers an effective solution. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign clear aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, teeth brushing, and cleaning.
The Invisalign process is very straightforward at Children’s Dental Care Inc. Firstly, our visiting orthodontist, Dr. Naidu, will assess your child’s teeth and advise whether Invisalign is a suitable treatment option. If it is the right course of treatment for your child and you wish to proceed, a three-dimensional image of their mouth and jaw will be created. A plan is then developed to ensure their teeth can be moved into their correct positions. The Invisalign clear aligners gently and gradually shift their teeth, with regular progress checkups with your orthodontist.
